KCUC’s Plan for COVID-19 for Our Patients and Staff

By: KC Urology

Thank you for the trust you have placed in Kansas City Urology Care as your urologic healthcare provider. As the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) impacts our communities, we feel it is important to communicate our plan to keep patients and KCUC Team Members healthy and safe.

Our Facilities:

  • While our clinics and equipment are cleaned frequently throughout the day, we are stepping up our frequency and detail of sanitizing equipment, exam tables, furniture and doors.
  • We are increasing the cleaning of all surfaces and items that are touched most frequently.
  • We are eliminating any and all non-essential work-related travel for 30 days.
  • We are cancelling any and all external meetings, lunches and gatherings for 30 days.

Our Patients:

We ask that our patients take the following precautions to help prevent any further spread:

  • Please wash your hands for 20 seconds with soap and warm water before and after your appointment.
  • Please use hand sanitizer during your visit to our office after any contact with equipment, furniture or supplies.
  • Please limit any bodily contact to only what is necessary during your exam or visit with the physician.
  • If you are sick (fever over 100.4, coughing, shortness of breath or any respiratory illnesses) please call our office to reschedule your appointment when you are no longer experiencing any symptoms.
  • If you are in our office and you need to cough or sneeze, please do so into a tissue and throw away immediately or do so into your arm (refrain from coughing or sneezing into your hand).
  • If you or anyone in your household have been on a cruise or have traveled to or from China, South Korea, Iran, Italy, Japan or Europe within the last 14 days, please call our office to reschedule your appointment 30 days out.

Our Team Members:

We are expanding our employees training and will follow CDC guidelines to ensure that we are maximizing prevention and preparedness during this unprecedented time. We ask that our Team Members take the following precautions to help prevent any further spread:

  • Continue current hand-washing policy and procedure.
  • We are implementing a no-handshaking policy with patients and other team members.
  • We are monitoring all team members and will require any that are sick to remain home.

Based on current information from the CDC and our own preparedness efforts, we are confident that we are taking any and all steps to provide a safe environment for you our patient and our team members.
